What is Gordian Protect?

Protect is is secure online safeguarding software which tracks all levels of pupil concerns and welfare in any educational context, working alongside your school procedures to help you manage the recording and chronology of pupil concerns, forming a full picture around the child.

Protect has a clear and intuitive interface and be used by everyone. DSLs and DDSLs are immediately alerted to concerns as they are reported and can liaise effectively with pastoral teams, parents and other agencies to support pupils and keep them safe. You'll be able to evidence your impact to other agencies, governance and Ofsted with ease.

Builds the bigger picture

All too often staff wonder whether or not to share a concern they may have for a child's welfare because in isolation it may seem small. Protect makes it very simple for colleagues working with young people to pass on any concerns they may have with ease. This enables the safeguarding team to build a picture around the child, potentially from what - in isolation - may have appeared to be a 'low level' concern. Encouraging staff to share all information enables action to be taken sooner rather than later and helps to create a positive safeguarding culture.

Build chronology

All concerns in Protect have an owner which the DSL can manage to ensure that every concern is investigated thoroughly and nothing 'slips through the cracks'. Team members are automatically notified of new concerns and Protect builds a chronology of all their actions so that contacts with parents and external agencies are clearly logged and can be followed up. Uploaded files are securely stored and individual concerns, as well as your full Safeguarding Log, can downloaded securely with ease.

Identify trends

Analyse your concerns by pupil groups, types of concern and by contacts with external agencies to identify trends and plan training and support. Ask questions of your data by drilling down to individual pupils. Download dashboards showing your headlines to provide clear evidence to governors and Ofsted.
